What is a visual savings tracker?
When I was saving money to quit my 9-5 job and go back to school, I used a savings tracker visual aid so I could see my progress. In the beginning, it can be hard to get motivated to save up for a big goal, especially when it feels so far away.
But no matter how big or small your savings goal is, having a visual aid is essential for keeping you inspired and motivated to track your progress. This can help you measure your baby steps and see how much you’ve gained as you work towards your goal.
Benefits of using a visual savings tracker for your goals
A savings tracker helps you create a visual reminder of all the hard work you’ve made towards your goal. You might think that you can save money without a clear goal or savings tracker, but it’s A LOT easier if you track your savings.
Here are some other benefits of using a visual savings tracker printable for your goals:
You’ll save more money
Just by tracking your progress can push you to save more. When you keep track of how much you’re spending each day, you’ll spend less. When you monitor how much money you’re putting towards your goals, you’ll save more.
It keeps your eye on the prize
This is crucial because celebrating your wins, even the small ones, will help keep you motivated during your savings journey.
It identifies problems
People who track their savings know immediately when they’ve stopped making progress towards their goals. This can help you figure out what went wrong and how you can better manage your money.
It helps focus your attention
People who track their savings make faster progress towards their goals because they’re paying attention to their spending behavior. Tracking might seem tedious at first, but it helps keep your goals at the top of your priority list.

How do I keep track of my savings?
Savings trackers are simple, fun to use, and can be a great way to track your savings. Your success will depend on you sticking to your goal and filling them out on a regular basis.
With that said, I HIGHLY recommend putting your tracker somewhere you will see it often. Ideas include your fridge, your workspace, your journal or planner, or your bedroom mirror. If you have multiple savings trackers, you can post them on a corkboard. This can be a good way to keep track of your savings goals.
The more visible it is, the more likely you’ll use it and be able to reach your savings goal faster! That’s what we all want, right?
